LA CRESCENTA – Local contractor Fresh Aire Duct Cleaning is sponsoring the Kids Art Table at the annual potluck Community Art and Chocolate Party in Sunland. The celebration is in honor of international Art Day, second Friday in August.

We wanted to support the children doing art because it brings out the joy of creating in an individual …” said Diane Leriche, Office Manager at Fresh Aire Duct Cleaning, “My husband and I have three daughters who were raised in the Foothills Area. They grew up with the arts and they are wonderfully creative individuals today.”
At the Kids Art Table, children are encouraged to create from their imagination, and are supplied with paints, brushes, paper, crayons and other supplies to pull it off. After they have made their art, they hang it up on a line across the yard for all to see. Criticism and teaching are not part of the process.
The Art Day celebration is held from 4-10pm every second Friday in August at the home of Art Day’s Founder, Becky Mate, at 7862 Apperson Street in Sunland. New Castle Remodeling will supply burgers/hot dogs, and attendees are invited to bring their art, poetry or music to share in an informal open mic. Notable artists on the guest list include poet Jill Meunier and past Poet Laureate Dorothy Skiles, acclaimed fashion designer Mina Prieto and, singing a song inspired by Art Day, singer/songwriter Rebecca Schwab. At around 7pm, prizes and awards will be given for the Photography Competition of the Art Day Games.
